Training (Part One)

Are you a network marketer, a salesperson, in mlm, home based business or in business for yourself? Is your business on the internet, or in the world of brick and mortar? Do you have a turnkey operation somewhere? What I hope to accomplish is to teach what will serve you well in any endeavor you may have. It is particularly designed for salespersons, but can be applied to every aspect of your life, to meet any challenge you may be facing.

To begin with, you will never be able to succeed at anything in life without the right attitude. Everybody has heard of having a positive mental attitude, especially those who work in sales. The idea is presented in a book called, “Think and Grow Rich” by one Napoleon Hill. He carries his belief into areas that I disagree with, but that doesn’t remove the underlying truth. Whatever you think (believe) you can do, you can. If you are not positive in your mind about your ability to realize what you believe you will achieve, then you certainly will not. It is called programming your mind to succeed or to failure. This does no harm to the religious belief of any person including Christians, but is in keeping with the teachings of the scriptures. But the problem arises when you carry it too far, as though it was owed to you because you ask for it. It requires your believing and then acting on that belief. If you fail to act, you destroy the “faith” that you have in your accomplishment, before it is consummated.

For a well rounded understanding of this concept, there are many good books available in the book stores that will help you immeasurably. My favorite author is one Zig Ziggler, who approaches life as it should be approached, with certainty in your ability.

The hardest thing to overcome is ourselves, and our doubts about our own abilities. But if we are to succeed, we must do exactly that. As a child of 8, there was no thought about whether or not I could succeed at my own business. In point of fact, I never looked at it as a business. I just did. I never considered whether I would be refused when I got to the door and knocked or would meet with success. I took it for granted that I would be hired. If I got a no, I just continued on to the next door.

This is how we must approach our business on the net. If we get a no, and we’ll get many of them, it is their loss not ours. What I have to offer, no one else can offer, because what I offer is myself, and there are none other like me. I have offered myself to you, and you have accepted, and so I must now give you of myself to make everything you are doing in conjunction with me, a success. You will succeed if you follow through! Stick with me, and you will find that you will make far more profit from this little business than you thought, if you believe and act on that belief. This is the process to be followed in doing business. On the internet, we must exude a positive mental attitude in words, since we cannot do in a face to face meeting. Your choice of words has to replace a visible attitude toward others. This is what I have presented you of myself above! Would you think me capable of doing what I say above, or think me just a fool, over-impressed with myself. If over-impressed with myself, why do you continue to read?

The best, and pretty well only means we have to ‘create’ confidence in others toward us, is through advertising which would include article writing. It is usually referred to as ‘Brand’ building. You can use any business you want as an example. First, well known companies put out ads to draw people to them to see what they were about. They included in their advertising promises to do and provide certain things, and then followed through. Trust is never or seldom created instantly. People are ready to trust, simply out of a need to do so, but fail them once and your name is rendered untrustworthy, and to regain that loss of trust, is an arduous task.

So how do we advertise in such a way as to build a confidence for ourselves in others. We choose words carefully with meaning and not just a succession of platitudes. Platitudes turn people away instead of drawing people toward you. If I said, for example, come and join me in this amazing business and that was all I said, would you even bother looking? If I said “free money” would you believe me or think I was some kind of fool to think you were gullible? Now take this statement, ‘I would like to show you a way of improving your heath, both physically and financially and then if you decide to join help you be successful’, would you be inclined to look? Now let’s really get into a powerful way of saying the same thing but with the power to draw you to want to join before you even go to the site! ” join me in business and let me show you how you too can be successful at it, not only improving your physical but your financial health. I have 54 years of successful business experience!” Ask yourself, would you have confidence that I could do what I say I can; make you successful?

So you can see that, with only words, I can pass my feelings of confidence on to you and give you the desire to at least look a little deeper. You would at least want to have contact with me, especially if it meant a better future for you. People look for improvements not only for the financial, but also for their physical well being. Today, with all the negative advertising about being in poor financial health, people are inundated with advertising about poor physical health. So there are an increasing number of affiliate networks promoting health and wellness as THE means to happiness. Being overweight has caused people to really take a look at themselves in the mirror, and fads have popped up overnight and weight loss is now a booming industry bringing in billions of dollars every year. But, as time has gone bye, people are becoming jaundiced to the industry because they have been “taken for a ride”, have spent more money than they can comfortably afford, with 0 results. They bought into the hype, and now they are doubtful of everyone promoting weight loss or even just good health. So how do you overcome a wariness of the entire industry? Let’s take a look at this.

I am a person who is in the health and wellness industry. I have only four products to promote. Anyone who takes the product on a auto-ship order, will also be given a free affiliate business. So how do I promote this business honestly and so that people will in fact join me? Not an easy thing, so many would think. But, as tough as this scenario is, I will show you that, because I believe, first in myself, and then in my product, that the rules I gave you above will apply and you will believe and want to join in this business.

For the most part I am a self- educated man. I have never taken the word of any one person on anything and I caution you to do exactly the same because false advertising and false teaching is rampant in our world where a formal education is the be all, and end all to being looked upon as an authority. But many of these experts, are only considered experts because someone has declared them as such because they toe the accepted line. But, look deeply and you will find that this expert contradicts that expert, and who is giving you the right goods. Well, my friend, I do not buy into anyone’s line, but investigate for myself. I use a great deal of common sense in my investigations, and after I have found truths that everyone agrees on, I build on what I know to be true. In health and the make up of the body there are certain scientific constants, and therefor truths. This is the same for business. Now, if I tell you that I have over 15 years of experience with nutrition, and 54 years of experience in successful business, would you be ready to at least listen to me. From here I would go on to tell you what and why my product is effective, and how it would serve you, and finish off with how I personally would help you to be successful in marketing. For you not to join me would mean that you are geared to failure and not success! At least that is what I would leave you believing, and I would be right!

I am going to stop at this point, and will take it up from here in my next article. There is still a great deal I can add, and it would make this longer than most people have the attention span for, in order to stay with it. So it will come to you in bite sized pieces so you can digest what I have said in this ‘part one’ article.
